Just Say No to Fast Food Wrappers
They contain Perfluoroalkyls (PFOA and PFOS) known hormone disrupters now being found in human blood samples. We were
promised this wouldn’t happen but it has.
Fast food wrappers.
Perfluoroalkyls are a hazardous class of stable, synthetic chemicals that repel oil, grease and water so they were a perfect choice to wrap greasy fries and burgers in. Consumers were assured that the PFOAs would not leach into the foods. It was assumed that The chemicals won’t migrate from paper into food, won’t become available to your body, and your body won’t process these chemicals. All three of these assumptions have been proven wrong in a study from the University of Toronto.
PFCs are dangerous to our health because they belong to a group of chemicals that disrupt your endocrine system and sex hormones. Effects range from thyroid disorders, infertility, increased bad cholesterol, immune system disorders, and cancer.
Definitely a good reason to avoid the fast food joints.
But PFOAS are in a lot more than greasy paper. They are found just about everywhere – drinking water, dust, air, carpet and fabric protectors, flame retardants, non-stick pots and pans, and stain-proof clothing. Their impact on the environment isn’t small either. Leaching into the soil and water, PFOAs are carried throughout the globe exposing everyone and everything to its toxicity.
What can you do to lessen this impact?
1. Do not litter
2. Dispose of chemicals, paints, and oils properly. Call your city and ask where the safe disposal site is.
3. Avoid junk food and microwave popcorn
4. Use organic pesticides and fertilizers
5. Choose hard anodized frying pans

Thanks Jodi! It’s extra important for children. Their life time exposure will be so much greater than people who are currently adults and their bodies metabolize differently.
This was really helpful article
We truly are living a nightmare with so many toxins coming at us from all levels. So I would assume, the longer the fast food sits wrapped up in this toxic paper, the more leaching occurs? (No doubt it does.) Say no to the wrappers … better still don’t eat fast food… yur body will thank you!
